Thnx Liberty for the story..I like stories but do expect bottomline unless its "Rashomaan" from Akiro Kurosova :)..just to make sure I understand wht Author wants to imply/say :)..and I do read it completely (not just 1st and last para).....Well, I think they still fighting legally over Kaveri water issue ..but I am bit disagree with u on reasons for WAR
if u talk abt INDO-PAK current affairs and respective politician's need to wage/not to wage war against each other then I wud say
- For pakistani politicians it has to do with their ambition to keep people in fear of INDIA and stay in power at the mercy of military and for spineless indian politician - its another issue which needs to be keep open/burining(instead of finishing once and for all ) to include in their political agenda for next
next LS/assembly polls. regarding your view "peolple dont wage wars , its the states that do. And states wage a war after deliberating about the economic implications"
--> I agree but again..i mean its not a war in a real sense..we may call it "dispute" which we do have in india. In EU..I think before eurozone also they didn't have any serious issues/disputes to be worried about(atleast I am not aware) which cud have lead them into potential war..Accepting EURO as common currency just offered them better economy with less complications.
Bottomline of my comment- No country can avoid possibility of wars by accepting one common currency as the issues(Geo-political-ethnic)might be different to wage war

I think the bottomline is, I do hope, not like John Lenon, not imagine.

I think the bottomline is, I love every human, I want every human to become what he wants.
I think the bottomline is, every human is free, he does not need guns to enforce it, nor money to buy it. He needs reason to accept it, reason to underline it, reason to live for his freedom.
I think the bottomline is, every man is not equal, nor worthless.
The hope is, liberty shall come not at the point of a gun, not through the might of powerful. Liberty shall come when every man knows he is free, and that is something, he can not give up, for anything
I think the bottomline is not necessary. It has been said through out the post.

there is no bottome line...its a story :)....
yeah I too was not very hapy with the end, I am sorry for that
EU howeverhas united them none the less, its not viable now for european nations to go into war as they have done in past. Ones loss is now every bodys loss. Suppose India and pakistan from tomorrow have same currency and trade becomes free accross the border. If It becomes so prominent that you are not able to really diffrentiate your assets from theirs. You think then a war is possible...peolple dont wage wars , its the states that do. And states wage a war after deliberating about the economic implications...what is the gain after the war is won. In europe now its a no win situation to wage a war against a member of union...thats what I meant by unity. It would be like Karnataka waging a war against tamilnadu for kavery water....possible ?

The way euro has united the whole of Europe in many a ways, economies will merge world into one big society or rather one big market. Where men would be free to indulge in enterprise of their choice, and trade or exchange their products as they desire. But at this moment it is still an uncertain future…a happily ever after presumably.

Do u mean to say - currently ppl can't trade freely in certain nations?..I understand that there are certain regulations from govt. to prevent monopoly of single private player in a particular area lets say - Google vs Microsoft which I think do require to keep the game fair and square for everyone in market. For EURO - As per my understanding, it was adopted to have more economic benefits (i.e. saving cost of exchanging currencies for cross-broder transactions, making their businesses immune to the fluctuations in exchange rates for diff. currencies(exceptions- hedged transactions) rather than creating a sense of unity among EU nations(having size less than our regional states). I know u havent written anything specifically like that in ur post(creating sense of unity among EU nations) but i am just wondering whts the bottomline of the article then?
