Because there is beauty in the world.

Like a ghost upon the water,
Sitting silently,
Drifting down upon the stream,
They break in upon my laughter.
Sitting silently,
Drifting down upon the stream,
They break in upon my laughter.
Sitting secretly,
Floating down amid their dreams.
The soft, supple, serpentine-necked swan,
Drifts along,
The soft, supple, serpentine-necked swan.
Drifts along,
The soft, supple, serpentine-necked swan.
They loom up wondrous in the dark night,
Glowing eerily,
Their whiteness shocking in the dark.
They break in upon my night sight,
Glowing fearfully,
Floating down towards the park.
The soft, supple, serpentine-necked swan,
Drifts along,
The soft, supple, serpentine-necked swan.
I am captivated by their silent spell,
My soul is calmed into to a silent well.
The soft, supple, serpentine-necked swan,
Drifts along,
The soft, supple, serpentine-necked swan.
