Inspiration

“1%inspiration, 99% perspiration”… it is a well-known quote by Thomas Edison.
However, what is inspiration?
Lets try to define Inspiration at the start. What is Inspiration? Where does it come from? What are the sources of Inspiration? Are they outside the human conscience? Is happiness an Inspiration? Can tragedy be an Inspiration? Can failure be an Inspiration? What are the blocks of Inspiration? Were you clear about Inspiration before putting up your question about Inspiration? Is inspiration a good idea/thought, which invigorates you to achieve the aim of the thought because of its viability? Is creativity Inspiration? Or inspiration is creativeness? Or you are talking of some illusive/hallucinating divine inspiration? How many types of Inspirations can be there? Can I be too much inspired? Can Inspirations be harmful? If something is source for me, will it be source of inspiration for you and others too? Can you be inspired by your own abilities and work on them with confidence? Do other people or objects inspire everyone? Above all, is nature itself is the innate and ubiquitous Inspiration? Is life and existence NO the first and foremost source of Inspiration? When we say Survival of the Fittest, does not survival become the basic Inspiration? Does Cause mean Inspiration? Can anything be without Inspiration?
Inspiration is *external stimulus*.
Inspiration is always external. It cannot be internal. Inspiration is breathing in, one will breath in the external air only. Be whatever the task is, it cannot be completed without the presence of that external stimulus. Because *Breathing In* is necessity to breath out.If one is willing to sing, then he/she will find the inspiration anyhow because that will be his need. He will use the external stimuli to fulfill his need.
But what if he fails in getting that Inspiration, or he fails to get air to breath in?Inspiration do not need crowd. One may get inspiration from the environment, from the non-living world, from the memories and old recurring thoughts too. What will happen if he gets no inspiration from anywhere, anyhow?
Until he will not get Inspiration, he cannot do anything. Let us say I have will to draw a design for a building, I have sheet, I have sketch, and I have will too. If I do not have a proper “thought” about How the building should be, how can I make it best usable, providing enough structural strength and managing the space in best way possible, I cannot draw a *good* plan. However, just for the sake of completion, I may copy some old thought* for the plan.Inspiration is Thought. Inspiration is brilliant Idea.Thomas Edison got the brilliant Idea to create electric bulb. The idea of making it was the inspiration. The idea of making a Brail script was the inspiration of Louis Brail.
No matters breath-in or breath-out, it is air.Similarly, no matters self or external, both are thought.Want, Desire, Ambition is thought.Ambition can never rise from outside, it always rise from within.Inspiration can never rise from within, it always rises from outside. Both are ideas.Edison had a desire, will, and determination to do something valuable. That Value was not Inspiration. Inspiration was that external factor which caused the idea to make an electric bulb. That Idea developed from outside, by his observation of then present science and its development and other important factors. He grasped them (took in), developed them within, (respire) and took out as creation of Electric Bulb, breath out the completion of idea of his will and Inspiration combined as achievement.
After that, he earned the honor, price and worth.
Perspiration is never important in comparison to Ambition and Inspiration. Nevertheless, it is major in percentage.

In Hindi we say “Idea ke Barah Ane, aur Dawai ki keemat CharAne”
That is the thought of the doctor about the illness and its cure is of higher value(75%) while the effort/perspiration he performs for making the medicine for the illness is of lower value(25%).If the Thought is wrong, the medicine will be of no value because it will not cure. Thought must be correct, that only will make the medicine perfect with the help of enough effort/perspiration (Mehnat).
For results, one needs both, inspiration and perspiration. You have an idea, inspiration… but unless you work for it, you will not get it. I never denied that However, once I get the idea, I can canalize the energy and effort for the right direction and useful work to get the results. Without achieving proper idea, my energies will be wasted upon.
Inspiration was those ideas, which lead Thomas Edison to the correct method for the lightening of electric bulb.Ambition was his will to make the electric bulb.More than the architects of PETRONAS twin tower, the Workers who staged the glasses on its window worked hard. Yet the architects gave the idea/inspiration/design/thought/lietmotif of the building, hence the architects of the PETRONAS twin tower are unforgettable.Who remembers the workers?Everyday millions of light bulbs are made, but we know Thomas Edison, not those who are still right at this moment are making the electric bulb.
The positive attitude is WILL/AMBITION an idea. The habit of seeing positive direction is the Inspiration, an Idea. After that, hard work comes into play.
99%inspiration and 1%perspiration!

After getting inspired, hard work is nomore a hard work rather a game to enjoy!

I like your interpretation of inspiration. The external stimuli that we call inspiration causes all creative and disruptive interaction. I guess the engine driving the mother nature causes limitless events which can act as inspiration for us to use our perspiration taking the civilization ahead..

    Cheers

well a good post .. but i would like to say something about it !!~~

Inspirations is not a thing which you have to gain from a external entity all the time .. sometimes your will can even bring you some inspiration and to others too ..

as they say when something evolve with the time the things around it also evolve … :)

Rest the idea of a “IDEA ” is really good .. its the idea that all that counts .. idea sells … rest all work can be done by anybody !! :)

  7. Kshitij Says:

Quite Inspirational it is.. But is it really a practical thought?

  8. Freesoul Says:

    @Kshitij

for a lazy ***, nothing is practical, because he is lazy enough to do any practical.

For a hardworking ambitious rational man, it is sound practical, and reasonable!

  9. Kshitij Says:

How can you simply say that the Inspiration is only from outside.. Think about it again.. Eternal inspiration is from inside.. and source of inspiration can be any.. inside or outside..
Subside your anger.. and give it a thought.. and let me know..

  10. Kshitij Says:

Thats why this thought doesnt sound practical, and not because any concerned person was less or more hard-working.

  11. Freesoul Says:

Try to think practically and stop your mysticisist madness!

first try to define “eternal” on any rational pragmatic premises, then try to define Inspiration, and you will understand that Inspiration is always from outside.

yet again, lazy *** will not even try to think by themselves.

they will keep summurising the same old fashioned and wrong conceptions.

    use your mind.

If Inspiration can be from inner conscious, then solipsism would be quite practical.

But it is a known fact that Solipsism is Impractical.

Even Mowgli needed wolfs to get inspiration for living(fiction).

    Use brains!

  12. Kshitij Says:

You are talking about Solipsism and Inspiration..Think about the very fact that that the Solipsism says that you should not think that only your own mind exists and which you are unable to understand.I am saying that Inspiration is not just external but is also internal…Now lets take an example or lets extend ur example::Edison felt the need for the bulb (i.e. External Inspiration) but how to do it and the energy and the vigour to do it was not external but was rather internal without which he could have never accompalished what he did.Internal inspiration is as much required as External Inspiration..And about mogli.. it was internal desire to live as well.. that made him survive..(fiction but a practical and rational thought)That just means.. you may not be a lazy *** but your sense of direction is not more than that of an ***..

  13. Freesoul Says:

how to do it and the energy and the vigour to do it was not external but was rather internal without which he could have never accompalished what he did

That was NOT Inspiration, That was Ambition.

why cannot you read the post properly????

First of all, you misinterpret Solipsism.

Solipsism means “My mind is the only thing that I know exists.” use wikipedia to understand what solipsism is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solipsism

Now, You even didn’t read the post completely.

It properly clarigfies and discusses the Inner Ambition to achieve, which is always necessary and is always Internal.

Yet, the Inspiration is always external.

You won’t get ambition to live/achieve from outside. It is your inner nature to keep struggling to live, achieve.
But for living and achieving you will discover ways from the outer world, and the external Inspiration/idea which you will discover for your inner ambition to live, will make your struggles possibly successful (if they are reasonable)
