@walker,akash,kaustubh,
I'm in constant touch with her and will keep a nice vigil and respectfull friendship with her always. I know she will make herself in any situation anyhow to be a good honest hardworking lovable citizen of my vicinity. I know she deserves my respect by her shear hardwork and desire to live happily honestly and with dignity.

As Ayn Rand has been pathetic with children, inspiration, mentorship... so is the case with you. Talking about individuality, self etc... let me ask you a basic question - whatever profession you are into, is it really by your "own" choice? Your family, friends etc etc are those whom you chose?
No. You got into the profession because that was one among the very few easily available choices. Are your friends your own choice? No. They are the ones who got there first.
The only thing you do by your own choice, something that really looks like your self-choice is something that you will achieve in spite of every hurdle in your way, in spite of every ifs and buts.
Nonetheless, you leave the choice on the 9 yr kid. How are you different from her...? As she is driven by her society, you are governed by your sorroundings as well..!
If you wanna do something, do it! if not, dump it! Why write a sad story of a capable girl?

P.S. Did you write this thing for pitying her, or did you write this thing to show that how virtuous you are? What? OR perhaps to blame the system, society, surroundings... THE FACT REMAINS THE SAME - WE ARE THE SYSTEM. If we will not change it then who will?

Man, every man,is an end in himself, not the means to the ends of others. He must exist for his own sake, neither sacrificing himself to others nor sacrificing others to himself. The pursuit of his own rational self-interest and of his own happiness is the highest moral purpose of his life

Virtue of selfishness.

One(I) must not sacrifice others for myself(my pleasure) nor i must sacrifice myself for others pleasure/help etc.
If I am an objectivist(I do not care if I am not) Than I cannot waste myself in criticising and abusing others, pointing out at their weaknesses or strongholds. I would not try to help those who do not deserve, I would not try to avoid helping them who do deserves it.
Why?
Because it will provide me happiness.
@gargi
The girl you talked about in your blog, she is just nine. If she is not getting the right environment then it is genuine if you try to provide her right environment.
But if you do not find ease in doing so, you must not. And you must not develop any guilt for yourself on behalf of that. because if she is meant to achieve, she will, irrespective of any environment or any help.

I do not know what to say...

The individualistic idea takes time to develop, and I have seen many people, who are well-educated, being afraid to step beyond the defined path.
I do not think the girl needs inspiration. She needs realization, perhaps
