@ Fisherman
First things first,
Europe is much different than India in terms of philosophical, economical and geographical backgrounds. A large part of India still exists in poverty and does not have neighbours like Pakistan always peeping over to take advantage of any political crumbling on Indian side.
I really respect your opinion about the choice of citizenship in the Indian state.
With the present conditions and cheap mindset of our politicos it really seems a distant dream that some day Indian identity shall be established on economic and philosophical terms.
India can never be a European union, primarily due to the fact that we have some hardcore chauvinists who would never rest in peace nor would let others do it. They would only like diversification of India on linguistic and religious grounds rather than the aforesaid ground points. And this is why I say that there remains no practical solution left to a better India. They won`t let us live and just won`t let us go to a better world.

Its midnight, I am sitting in my study-room, with a lamp on which leaves most of the corners as dark as they were without that lamp. And then, I get to read this blog - the arguments which I remember having made with my very own self, I read further and I respect you for writing this. My blog, I intend to dedicate for this task. These are the fecund years for Indian sub-continent.

The solution, I believe, is to start working at the grass-root level.

@ Shashank
through out history, Europe has seen many attempts at unification under a single political entity which were driven by different stand-points, some like Napoleon's were purely political supremacy, Hitler's was on racial superiority, Russia's was on communism. But, Europe today consists mainly off very small states which divided on racial, cultural, religious lines. Now, they are coming together through European union, through economic means. I think, that is the way forward.
Indianism is taught to people from their childhood, and essentially it is not conceptualized, and hence, Indians are more prone to differentiate them on any ground available, because, to them their only unifying factor is their birth. They are forced/ born in such states.
The way out is through lesser government involvement, giving freedom to people, there is no justification of preemptive action. Let people decide, let people choose.
India exists because of its people, and not otherwise.
And I would like to add, a solution to the problem is given in the article, do you think otherwise? go through the last few lines, if you would.

I agree by most of your points. But there is one thing that I'd like to mention. It's very easy to condemn and criticise than to find a solution. Do you have an actually relevant solution to the problem of nation being taken on ransom for every small thing?
How do you make a man eat food who has not eaten anything for 12 days and has caused a whole hell lot of riots in the Indian state?
And above all how do you curb democratic rights of a free indian citizen??
I know that this division of India on religious and etnic grounds is wrong but the government of India has to succumb because there seems to be nother way out. And above all the essence of Indianism still flows in an Indian. He is still proud to see Sachin making a century, to see a child coming out of a 60 m borewell, and I can site numerous other examples. Its only a school of thought that one belongs to. But we are still waiting for a solution to come up???
