Better prove your worth that you really deserved that lavish upbringing.
Because if you don't deserve it, you won't be able to actually enjoy it too.
While the deserving man will make his paths even in scarcity and will reach flourishment of happiness on his own by his own mettle and hardwork and innovation.

and well its your free-will, if you are so moved for that child than do provide him better education and upbringing reasonably. Nobody is forcing you to either ignore or help that child. It will be your own call.

Thats not so in case of the restrictions and useless regulations the society and government poses.

i agree, they can’t make the world better this way. But you mention “supercilious”. I don’t get it. which social governing body do u find to be haughty or arrogant?
To live in a society you need to make adjustments, sometimes you have to live like a bonsai tree for that.
