hmm...I think their personal achievements are worthy to take a note of as source of inspiration(even though they haven't done anything significant for india) for all those youngsters who wish to be like them. And having a common thread of "Indian Origin" shud certainly make certain indians(yeah those who think that way)proud while telling this to any other foreign national. Again - I am subjective and not generalising this coz I understand being human, all got different lenses of perception.

We as Indian deserve this. Don't we. Most of the "Big Schools" have the created an illusion and a drift between the "Average Student" and "IITian/IIMs People" that its almost a sin if you are not preparing for them.

For what? If these people are so smart and can change the world, let them change India. I know India needs to innovate.

A poor, uneducated and desperate nation, which is craving for a basic life can never progress, people need to be free for a nation to be free. We must have a look at UK how, after WWII they lost every thing and built a better country .

At the end of the day we are just Cheap Labours. Entrepreneur is a joke in India.

We are proud of our Infosys, TCS etc which are nothing more than glorified, body shopping shops.

Good post. I wanted to bust one more myth about the 8$ in the pocket line all these guys use to trumpet their rags-to-riches story. It wasnt that they couldnt afford to take more than 8$. The stupid RBI allowed only 8 dollars per individual to be taken out of India as money for expenses abroad in the 60s and 70s when dollar forex reserves was supposed to be the greatest thing after sliced bread.
Once they reached there, they all could ask for more money or earn further in the US. So it is not as if these worthies had a choice.Every Indian was captive to these totalitarian regulations.Ditto for Chidambaram who went to study in Harvard.
So one more time these chaps pull the 8$ trick,I would slap their frickin head off their neck.
