I am all for the girl’s will and Man’s choice.
It’s their freedom to choose for themselves and no one should object to it.
Given that she describes herself as a human pet – and is happy to walk around on a lead – Tasha Maltby is used to odd looks and even odder remarks.
But nothing had prepared her for the reaction of the bus driver who allegedly told the self-styled Goth and her boyfriend: “We don’t let freaks and dogs like you on.”
Miss Maltby and her fiancé Dani Graves were so angered they have complained to the bus company of being “victimized”.
“It is definitely discrimination, almost like a hate crime,” 19-year-old Miss Maltby said yesterday.
The music technology student had this defense of her lifestyle.
“I am a pet, I generally act animal like and I lead a really easy life,” she said.
“I don’t cook or clean and I don’t go anywhere without Dani. It might seem strange but it makes us both happy. It’s my culture and my choice. It isn’t hurting anyone.”
The bus driver, however, has obviously not been listening.
He has repeatedly refused to allow Mr. Graves, 25, and his “pet” on to his bus in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.
Last month, with Miss Maltby on a leash as usual, the couple tried to board a bus at the bus station.
The driver, who was off duty, was standing near the door.
Mr. Graves alleged: “He shoved me off the bus. He called us freaks and he called Tasha a dog.
“He said, ‘We don’t let freaks and dogs like you on’.
“He basically grabbed my T-shirt and slammed me backwards.
“I got a bit angry and called him a fascist pig.”
In a separate incident, police were called when the driver, who has not been named, refused to allow other passengers on board after the couple ignored his orders and sat down.
The couple, who lives on benefits in a council house and plan to start a family, have been friends for years,
they started going out together in July and became engaged in November.
Paul Adcock, of bus company Arriva Yorkshire, said: “We take any allegations of discrimination seriously.”Mr Graves has already contacted us directly and as soon as our investigation has concluded we will inform him of the outcome.”
I surely am against the bus driver and any system that opposes or discriminated the couple on the basis of their choice of living.
That does not mean that I would encourage other girls or men to follow the same steps as Miss Maltby and her fiancé. Its there choice and every individual has right to choose for him/herself.
I am all for leading the life you chose to live if it hurts no one and it makes you happy.
“If you can’t do something smart, do something brave”
The bus driver was certainly wrong, but how right Miss Maltby and her fiancé were is also not clear much.
I agree that they are free to choose for their life styles, and I myself like and enjoy the fetish, kinky BDSM world. But that does not mean that I won’t care for the right place and time. But if the Man of Miss Maltby is her proper owner, then it was all His responsibility and I feel he did responded well to His responsibilities. Yet, there is a time and place. And these people should have known better, they were not new to the scene, they had dumped heavy money into it. The one girl was wearing Gaul tier pony Couture (you remember the Madonna photo shoot right?) the saddle belt and surcingle-corset with the headstall and gold bit. Right down to the boots with horseshoes on the bottoms and the tail. It’s an excellent dress (loving the picture). And the moments of joy were wasted because of the incident at the bus.
I wonder if it could have been saved for just joy and pleasure of the feeling of submission and fetish.
I guess the Man acted foolish to bring His pet in open like that. Even in 24/7 relations, people must take care of the other side of public, because although they are not hurting anybody, yet the others may hurt them as was done in this case.
‘Pet’ submissive are not uncommon, nor totally out there any more than anyone on the BDSM lifestyle who likes their bottom whipped or to whip said bottom
She may grow out of it, or she may very well just be happy, simply - who is anyone to judge this as unusual and especially anyone from the fetish world?
I think it was wrong to kick her off the bus and it had nothing to do with safety and everything to do with the bus driver not liking and judging what he saw as not ‘socially normal’ - we all fight against that everyday to be us and it’s sad - I’m highly impressed that she stood her ground and defended herself, whether it was for her ‘Goth shocking’ or just her belief
I think this girl has done something many of the people would not have the balls to do. She is obviously completely comfortable with who she is. Gothic is sexy and beautiful in my eyes and the whole collar leash thing is just power exchange. She loves the life and loves who she is and she is just living it.
There are varying degrees to everything in this world but over the course of my life I have learned that you just cannot judge a person for any reason under the sun because if you haven’t walked in their same shoes, then you just cannot understand. The fact that she chooses to do it tells you she has a reason. Also I think age has nothing to do with it. It is pretty sexy at her age though.
But people have to accept wrongly or rightly that society has often rigid opinions on what’s right and wrong and anyone with an ounce of intelligence knows that in such situations you’re likely to get an adverse reaction.
Each person has their own kink. If she likes being lead around on a leash, so be it. I am not going to question why she does it, so long as it makes her happy.
Anyways this story was bought up a little while ago and the bus company did apologize to the couple. The driver of that bus was more concerned about her leash causing problems if there were to have been an accident more than anything.
The story did hit the national papers of UK and a lot of people actually sided with the couple in question.
One of our papers actually spent the day with the couple seeing how they lived… asking friends and neighbors how they felt about the couples activities and they all stated that it was their business and not theirs and that they had got so used to seeing them they way they are that it was just a part of life seeing them about town.
I simply adore that kind of people and neighbors.

March 16th, 2008 at 6:54 pmTheir sexual preferences may not be shared by others but still thay have the basic right to use community travel… They wer not doing sumthing obscene. Strangly ppl dnt mind when 2 horny individuals are trying to do a fellatio in the back of the bus.. yes beleive me it happens..but with this couple …well its sad n angering…
I could understand if such a thing happend in India.. BDSM is relatively new though not unheard of here..but BDSM is not sumthing which should shock ppl there… They are not freaks
they are simply two individuals who have the balls..(the female included) to live their life the way they want to….. n they are not harming the society in anyway… so the society des not have a right to whip em back….
i readlly do admire their courage n boldness..
cheerz..

March 17th, 2008 at 12:49 amive read abt the couple a few months ago..kinda found them weird..although i feel that they shouldnt have been discriminated against, yet i also feel thatthe driver mustve shooed them away since he didnt want other passengers, especially children to freak out. the couple themselves should have been more considerate about ppl’s sensitivities instead of adopting such a “we give a damn about the world” attitude..my opinion

April 7th, 2008 at 3:23 pmI am going to counter the popular view here. Not necessarily because I adhere to such a view, but because that view (a less jingoistic form of the bus driver) is prevalent.
It’s very simple and noble to state “all individuals should have living space”, etc. etc., but, what if the concerned human being is a nudist? Should s/he still be allowed to use the public transport system? Perhaps not.
There are societies within our human world. Each such society has its own rules. Take the example of India: the most ‘inhuman’ forms of living have been accepted, albeit not in the mainstream. Digamvara Jain munis, aghori sadhus, baul, sufis and other such nomadic musicians … everyone has their living space. But, these living spaces are segregated. A sadhu is acceptable as he is, not if he wants to smoke pot in a playground full of children.
Similar segregation should exist in our modern times as well. Otherwise, clashes such as the one reported in this post are bound to happen.

whenever such cases will happen, the people like that of bus driver or you will be discarded.
and whats wrong with nudists?
Jain and baudh sadhus roam round nude.
Its very acceptable in India.

April 8th, 2008 at 11:02 amMy comment was an opinion, and, as I mentioned, an opinion I do not necessarily adhere to. And an opinion is something you clearly have not been able to accept (because your comment starts with the idea of discarding people) … discarding people is exactly what leads to the segregation I was talking about.
Allow Everything is anarchy, not society. When I say “society”, I mean any kind of society. You may accept nudists. But will you accept an aghori ? (A certain sect of sadhus who perform sexual acts with dead bodies, and sometimes even eat them.) We all have our comfort zones … we discard anybody and anything that lies beyond that area.
The word “discarded” reminds me of a great film I once saw. The last line of the script was, “I had freedom at last. Freedom of the discarded.”
Thinking along that line, segregation (i.e, being discarded by some parts of the society) brings you that freedom. It is only our ego that stops us from achieving it.
P.S. I mentioned “bauls”, not baudhs. :-P

April 8th, 2008 at 1:55 pmThe aim of society is not to bind the individuals but to free them.
And Anarchy or miniarchy is the ultimate goal of a civilised society. Why will there be aghoris if the society be civilised?
Second thing is, its individual’s choice what she/he do with her/his freedom, her/his freedom ends at the point where yhe individual space of others start.
I won’t accept any preaching and I won’t accept any society restricting my individual freedom, my individual rights.
Collectivism is the biggest crime.
And when did I said that I accept jainis or budhists?
Just cos you fear of aghoris, you won’t start taxing and punishing a person roaming in a bikini or monokini or naked on beach.
It is his/her choice. If that individual will have his reason to be nude at a certain point (or always) then it niether affects nor disturbs others freedom.
And without reason if he/she misuses his/her freedom, he/she will suffer by the reason itself, society has to do nothing in it.
About being discarded, Galileo was also discarded so was leonardo Da Vinci, Sade was discarded, MF Hussain was not only discarded but was attacked too.
Chandramohan was discarded brutalised. Crimes of society are always irresponsible and unreasonable.
Now about necrophilia, it has nothing wrong. The thing is, it cannot be forced. If a person wishes to have necrophilia after his/her death(being used sexually within 12 hours after death by the person of his/her choice) he/she should make a personal will about it before death. If it’s his/her will, it has nothing wrong.
and body is an individual only till the brain is not dead.

April 18th, 2008 at 11:27 pmI agree that what the driver did was wrong.
However, there are multitudes of aspects to this situation. I believe judging someone involves the worst crime ever: Comparison. It’s something that we learn as children. We compare the person to ourselves and then produce a reaction based on it. It’s not only unfair to that person, it’s unfair to us too.
But then what about those who purposefully try to be different from society, just to maintain an image? Aren’t they equally partners in crime with those who just accept society’s rules? Aren’t they comparing too?
I mean if someone doesn’t care about society, it shouldn’t come into picture at all. All they should care about is their reasoning, their loves. How do we know if a person is being different or that person is different?
Shouldn’t someone focus more on thinking rationally rather than dressing up in a way different from society?
But yes, you have a point. We cannot say that the couple do not think rationally just on the basis of the way they dress. In fact we should rather not care.
Nice post.

market is the best judge!
so what happened to the bus driver?
is it not a bit too much to expect a plain (rustic) driver to have all the discrimination of a modern age diva? may be the fellow passengers could have chipped in; but they didn’t! does it not convey a message?
well, things might change in the future.
tolerance and accomodation:
this has to be practised from both the sides. yet the underlining thing is that - the spirit of accomodation and tolerance should grow.

May 3rd, 2008 at 9:56 amYou know, there is one thing that I would like to do - to delve into the psyche of such people who are what can be referred to as ‘kinky’.
While of course I agree whole heartedly that the bus driver had no right to push away the couple, I am wondering about the couple’s motivations. Were they sensationalists? Or were they simply living normal, as they thought normal would be?
Fine that the girl thought of herself as a pet, but was the leash necessary?
Consider this - my trained Labrador will follow on my heels with or without a leash. Why did she need one?
To me it reeks of exhibitionism - it was as if that they knew they were doing/feeling kinky and defiantly wanted to proclaim it to the world. Sort of saying ‘this is what we do. lets see how you react.’
The bus-driver’s attitude personifies prejudice which homosexuals, transvestites, HIV positives, and even prostitutes in India can and do suffer from. Amazing, that anything still doesnt go!

True, and i have mentioned it in the article itself, in between the lines.
The thing is, they wanted to enjoy their freedom to move with mutual consent in the mood they were in.
Surely, on deeper looks, it just seems to be exhibitionism.
but even then, any sort of force or discrimination against them is not the right way.
Yep, they needed to consider the time and place, and by doing so, they might have enjoyed their time much better way.
