“I”

‘I’—am the witness. Witness of countless creatures passing by….
By the hazel spread of this sun, ’I’ exist.
Perpetual! In this perpetual light…
My broad, sturdy branches—complement my being.
I look up to the sky and it resounds—sky is your limit!
Every shred of my structure—a life giver.
Passing days—they are calm and I like spending time with them,
I can see—“see through” things.
I laugh…
Under the same sturdy branches, I witness virtually all gamuts of emotions—Broken hearts, meeting hearts, success’, failures, vows, maturing thoughts.
All blossoming and withering right under me. I smirk at it, I laugh and then suddenly I am drawn towards myself—and I am happy again!
Myriads of “colours” pass by me without even noticing me; except a ‘few’…
And to those ‘few’ I know, I give courage…
Courage—to face a lifetime.
Those ‘few’ who stop by to notice me are my epitomes. My alter egos….
I smile again, looking at them; those eyes, those beautiful, pristine eyes watching me and they give me—sheer pleasure.
Pleasure of watching them. The same pleasure which they derive, watching me…
We don’t talk but we understand a lot.
A reverence we pay to each other…..
I look back at myself and here again I am reaffirmed that Life holds new opportunities in the form of those ‘few’ and that Life goes on and that Life sees ‘Colours’,”Colours” don’t see life..
‘I’— am the world, ‘I’-am life,’I’-am complete.
I am I, the Individual.

Standing in the forest the beast hears her footsteps’
His fire stirs as he craves the young girl,
Raging his desire consumes him’
Aching his lust drives him’
His want for her taking over his entire being.

Sensual and beautiful the young girl steps softly’
Fear and excitement fill her belly,
She knows that the beast desires her’
That she will be consumed by him if caught,
Yet she taunts him, luring her prey into the open.

As the beast comes close his heart beats like the thump of a deep drum’
His breathing deep and controlled,
His sadistically evil side feasting on her tenderness’
Using her for his pleasure,
Satisfying his craving to the fullest.

As she sees her beast she knows deep inside’
Knows that he shall be hers,
She will lure him out into the open’
Vulnerable will he be at his most intense moment,
She knows that through love she will ultimately tame the beast inside.

As he grabs her to take her, she suddenly turns and looks into his eyes’
The piercing affect of that gaze drives all the way to his soul,
His heart softens as he looks upon the sensual creature he holds’
The need to devour her, over come by the ache to hold her,
Seeing the pain they both share so deep the beast cannot harm her for his own greed,
He simply pulls her close in a warm embrace.
Protecting and cherishing all that is dear to him’
Forever he will guard and protect her heart and soul’
For it is forever that the beast will be tamed by her.

Allowing himself to be captured’
The beast realizes that the one whom controls him’
is the one whom loves him the most,
Looking deeply into each others eyes they realize that they have a bond’
Not a bond like most have, but one that goes beyond mere mortal thought,
A bond that shall last for eternity,
For the beast loves her with all that he is.

I know this tune, we’ve heard it before
We’ve been this way
we know where the path will lead

Turn off the path, you are free.
Face the force of free will
set it loose.
Play a new tune,
sing a new melody,
teach others to dance
Unfold your wings and fly again

Where there is no path,
leave a trail
and know that others will follow
if only the hardy few at first
Explore your fears and discover your dreams
The meek will inherit the earth,
but the brave want heaven right now
and we are prepared to come and take it.
Stop bitchin’ and start a revolution.

An age long past and far away
When gods were young and still at play
Amidst a fortress by a wood
Where all was sweet and true and good
A sage, a Prince, of Baranor
Resolved to learn his world’s lore;
With mail, sword, and arbalest
Alone he set upon his quest.
He traveled thus for day and night
And came at last to frozen blight
Of snow and ice that blew like sand
And scoured clear a dying land.
He kept upon the narrow track:
No storm could ever turn him back,
But when he saw a hell-spawned cur
With brimstone eyes and charcoal fur
He first began to fear his fate:
The land was filled with anger, hate!

With eager joy the hound pursued
A dragonling of azure brood –
A tiny thing just scarcely born
With purple wings and tiny horn.
The prince stopped still with deadly glare –
The demon dog — it should not dare!
Great anger struck his very core!
The drake is dear to Baranor!
He drew his sword, a spell-wrought blade
And charged the beast, the chase delayed –
With bolt and claw and sword and fang
Their blood ran deep and steel rang.
Heroic blows cut darkest night
Til mist and cloud bared Luna’s light,
But with the glow of pale moon
They saw the struggle ended soon;
The Huntsman’d heard the battle’s sound
And rushed to aid his wayward hound.
The prince prepared his final stand
His blade would never leave his hand.
With all his might he sent a curse
To shape the forming universe;
“Let evil win this thrice-cursed day;
Good in the end shall have its way!
Three swords it takes to bring you low,
But mine shall strike the fatal blow!”
And then awareness fled his eyes –
The Huntsman claimed another prize.

But lo! Despite the royal death
Another creature still drew breath –
The tiny dragon, young and kind,
Still possessed a clever mind.
A dart, a dodge, and up a tree,
Wings spread wide and she was free!
Sprung diamond tears from argent eyes –
The dragon mourned the knight’s demise.
But lo! Her work was not yet done,
It had, in fact, but scarce begun:
The drake would seek to see fulfilled
The prophecy the prince had willed.

For painful days of sleepless flight
The dragon fled the deadly night
Past hills and mountains crowned with trees,
Past glassy lakes and roiling seas.
Twas thrice of three, the moons she fled
The Prince behind her: frozen, dead.
For thrice of three she hardly ate:
Just beat her wings to meditate.
Perhaps to set these things to rights
Took swords in hands of noble knights?
For those she knew of just one spot:
A table, round, in Camelot.
A year and day she sought the land
Whose king would surely understand.
But Arthur heard and shook his head,
“I harken every word you said,
But I must have this riddle solved
Before my lords will be involved.”
“I’m told you’re wise and clever too!
Please tell me, sir, what I must do?”
“Forsooth, I’m just a king, you see –
I’ve naught to do with prophecy.”

Although this made the King distressed
The drake herself was not depressed;
Determination never ceased –
She quickly sought an elder priest:
No doubt the force of God, divine,
Unravels fast a simple line?
But all this effort came to naught –
The clergyman looked rushed, distraught,
Eluded by the Truth he sought.
The riddle made him overwrought!
“I don’t have time to dwell on such –
But one more idle might know much.
Go seek the Fisher, by the shore –
That’s all he does, there: think and snore.”

The Dragon sighed with deep dismay,
Went down to shore, upon the quay;
The man was etched with tragic lines
That, weathered, spoke how life declines,
For mournful wind and joyless sand
Leave cruel cuts in Nature’s hand.
The Dragon once more told her quest –
They spoke three days, for both digressed,
And waves erode the time away.
But then, upon that final day,
The Fisher said, “Don’t ask of me;
All answers come ashore from sea.
A fisher’s ken is only broad
Because he lives so close to God,
To Hydra, Kraken, Titan’s keep –
There lies great knowledge in the deep.
Go seek among the endless brine
To find a creature part divine –
Perhaps a nix or water sprite,
Or ocean Fairy, glowing bright.”

With fond adieu the dragon flew
Into the air and to the blue
Both high above and diving low
She sought an answer to and fro
But lo, leviathan stays deep
And Kraken spends eons in sleep
And up amidst the frothy swells
Was not a thing to hear her yells –
Except a solitary fish,
A herring scarce a finger’s size
Its scales orange, as were its eyes.
“Come here! Calm down! And cease to shout
And tell me, what’s this noise about?”
The dragon, just to be polite
Then told the fingerling her plight
Implored, “Oh please, my new-found friend,
Convince a Hydra to ascend?
I’ll gift of gold – a heaping mound! –
If an answer can be found.”
The little fish but swam in place –
Such calmness set her back apace.
He spoke an answer with respect
But not the answer she’d expect:
“I pity you, though you can fly
And I can hardly see that high.
Your poetry is nowhere, though,
So near as deep as I can go.
To bring these princely words to be,
O Dragon, takes but you and he.”
Oh, what the little know of such
She’d underestimated much!
It took no time for him to show
Just how to bring the Huntsman low.

Then back to wing and back to flight
And back to raging storms of white;
And back to foes of fearsome might
And back to face the endless night!
The hellish hounds all took to chase
She led them on in deadly race
And in the front her mortal foe:
The Huntsman there, with eyes aglow!
Dark clothes of shadow-woven weave
Had scalps of men upon their sleeve.
The dragon, though, was not distraught –
For soon the Huntsman would be caught!
With pounding hooves and scraping claws
The cursed pursuers never paused
Until they reached a hallowed spot
The very one the dragon sought –
Where last the Prince had drawn a breath
Where then the Prince had met his death.
As quick as light she turned around;
As quick as dark she held her ground –
The Huntsman cried with bloody joy
So certain now he would destroy
But as he raised his dagger high
The azure dragon, quick and spry
Attacked the fiend with head held low –
Her horns, twin swords, each struck a blow
The demon fell, the quest fulfilled,
It’s hellish hate forever stilled;
The Huntsman’s eyes began to fade –
He’d dropped upon a rusty blade.

We are all suns in miniature.
Beacons, blazing bright with knowledge,
Each an endless font of analysis and wisdom.

Our shared light may eclipse all others.
The brilliance of our truths may,
Make us one, abolish the darkness,
And exorcise the ignorance of night.

We grow like bright new gods,
Exchanging crystalline plasmids.
Of knowledge, the radiant stuff,
From which we forge the tools,
Of the enlightenment, born anew.

All of us, caught in this beauty,
Of the construct we share.
Spinning the gossamer webs,
Of communal illumination.

Each link is hard, clear crystal,
The light of ancient stars.
Condensed in the physical,
We share the weaving of the web.

Each and every soul a craftsman,
A voice in this choir, filling the city.
The luminescent city of illusory lights,
We share this bright and brilliant prison,
Born again, of our own hands.

Staring from the darkness’
The bright light in her eyes,
She is stripped of her disguise’
Shimmering light shines on her,
Creating color every where.
The breeze swirls gently through’
Her chestnut locks of hair,
Her eyes of green tear up.
At the beauty through which she walks’
The darkness can no longer hold her,
No matter how or where it stalks.
She raises her arms up high’
And the light she does embrace,
She is full of mystery.
A secret smile upon her face’
For she is innocence,
And hope that shines in light.
Healed as she walks through shadows’
And emerges from the night!

Just remember Alfred Huxley’s “A Brave New World” or George Orwell’s 1984.

They make us and grow us like a bonsai tree, never let us to reach our potential. On the price of our natural abilities they make us something different which they want.
And they make us believe that it is beautiful and peaceful, but at what price, at the price of our freedom, our individuality, our truth and our own existence. The indoctrination by society, culture, religion, traditions, collectivism denies us to examine and know ourselves and question the reason behind A being A. Yet, they teaches us that being under control, being disallowed to flourish freely on grounds of reason and abilities, on grounds of subsidies and quotas, reservation and taxation they are trying to make a better world. By removing all jungles and roping some bonsai, can they make the world beautiful?

Blood red in the burning sienna sky,
And watched it slowly sink behind the gorse gashed moors,
Loss clawed at me tearing and tight,
Until tears pressed from the eyes that had been so dry, bitter and scalding.I remember walking with you here in happier times,
When life seemed so endless,
And death was just a wicked tease, sent to disrupt our contentment,
That we placed firm behind us and did not turn to see,
Maybe we didn’t dare…

We climbed the hills one balmy summers day,
And looked down on the world at our feet,
Feeling like giants as ants crawled below,
We were proud, we were happy, our smiles reflected in each others eyes.
Gone now till we meet again, someday, sometime, somewhere.

But even as I mourned the moon rose high, helping me to see,
A gentle mellow light soothing and softening the jagged edge of grief,
And in its fullness I saw your face, watching over me,
And in a sighing breeze that dried the tears,
I heard the wind whisper your words.

“Still here, though not here, still with you my dear”,

And as I saw its reflection in the mirroring lake, all became clear,
We are still somehow together as long as you are in my heart.

(in memories of my sister Sarika)

Brilliance is being able to say the right thing at the right time. Even if that time is surrounded by sorrow, anger or fear. Brilliance is doing the right thing at the right time, even if that means sacrifice. Perhaps it’s even doing the right thing at the wrong time because one never knows what the right time is – but we do know what’s the right thing to do.Brilliance isn’t the manipulation of people or gaining power playing on their insecurities or prejudices. It isn’t one-ups manship or having the most people on your side in an argument. It certainly isn’t name calling or being indifferent.

Brilliance is listening to the breeze of thought, debates with ideas, disagreements with tolerance to opposing views. It’s the reverberation of Life, the cacophony of cultures and the streams of consciousness that are a part of the human condition and experience.

Brilliance is the sound of children laughing, a cats purr, a dog lickng your face, your child’s hand in yours, the ocean surf, the smell of home cooked food and music that lights your imagination or ignites your feet in dance. Art that feeds your soul – any form of art. Living is an art.

Brilliance is staring at the stars – miles from civilization and marveling at all that is out there and inside of each of us. It is the quiet reflection each night before sleep and the wonderous revelations in the light of day.

Brilliance isn’t diamonds or gold. It’s treasuring people, feelings and emotions more than things.

Brilliance is…
silence in the dead of night on the beach
the first palette of colors that paint dawn
the last hues as twilight ebbs
understanding another without words
an indescribable kiss
a myriad of touches
subtle
unexpected
unique in each of us
the ripple effect of compassion
empathetic concern
overwhelming when you’re in its presence
a mosaic of whispered words
tears in sympathy
tears of joy
Tears are brilliant in their own right, So many kinds of them.
a deep laugh
sighs of contentment
a lust for life; all its pleasures
the loyalty of those around you
ideas and actions that enrich and liberate
a catalyst for change, nor matter how minute
making a difference – if just to yourself
inspires
desires
simplicity
Brilliance is, knowing what song to sing to soothe a teething baby.
Brilliance is, knowing the sound of an aching soul and being able to harmonize with it.

The sound of his whispers so deep and firm,
I listen close to it as I sit and squirm.
I feel his kisses and nibbles upon my neck,
and I turn into a quivering sensual wreck.

Giving into what every his sweet whispers say,
even though at times I know I will pay.
He whispers he loves me and will do me know harm,
and convinces me to believe him with all of his charm.

He continues to whisper as his hands roam my sides,
waves of lust fill me as sensations run like tides.
The bit is carefully brought up to my face;
he carefully wiggles it and puts it in place.

He continues to whisper his words so softly into my ear,
as I know he is constantly telling me there is nothing to fear.
His breath plays along my neck as I feel it so hot;
to run I know this is one thing I can’t and shall not.

He has me in his grasp with his whispers so dear,
letting me know he loves me and is very near.
He whisper what a good girl you are to hold still,
and as the gloves go on I feel a slight thrill.

My arms are raised and tied high up over my head;
only by his whispers do I not fight as they are lead.
He whispers you are mine now to do as I please,
I can punish or leave you or constantly tease.

There is nothing you can do to get away from me now,
except for one way but I need not tell how.
For you already know this as plain as the day,
I cry… I miss your whisper is now all I can say.

- Harivansh Rai Bachchan

Its the day to remember him for a while.
They say Ideal Man can never occour.
They say human is amalgam of strength and weakness.
They say that Hypocricy is so uncommon as it is in behaviour.

I say, It is possible.
The strength to renounce the skeptic illusions, The strength to adopt the basic truths of reality, honesty, hardwork, unbiasedness, unhypocritical pure existence is Possible!
I say, if God is, it is the Individual!

Its the 100th Birthday of the Poet with a Golden Pen! Who dared to renounce the falsehoods and hypocricies of Indian plethora of the castesism and religionism, and rouse above the criticisation of commons to make his own space of unskeptic unillusioned truthfullness of character!
a momentary respect to HariVanshRai Bachchan!

Complexities of human mind
Perception all constructs,
self biased subjective
All can see yet all are blind
There are no right and wrong no absolute objective
Infinite parallels of existence…never intertwine
So follow the path you believe to be true
Not leave your life for someone to construe
You are you and I am I…complete full and divine
(My love/My self/My ego)

I hope apologies can be extended and accepted
I hope anger can be dissipated
I hope fears can be calmed
I hope trust and respect can be earned again
I hope we can agree to disagree from time to time
I hope we can grow to tolerate each others likings and views
I hope we can throw out the analyzation and calculation of statistics.
I hope we can express what we want when we want how we want. and be okay with it and have others say hey that’s okay
I hope we can eliminate or at least reduce competitiveness
I hope we can care about each other
I hope living can become fun again.

DISCLAIMER: I didn’t make this up, it was sent to me with some hilarious pictures I can’t upload. Any resemblence to you is purely accidental, any resemblance to me is deliberate on my part lol.

AS I have matured, I have learned:

That one good turn gets most of the blankets.

that no matter how much I care, some people are just jackasses.

that it takes years to build up trust, and it only takes suspicion, not proof to destroy it.

that whatever hits the fan will NOT be distributed evenly.

that you shouldn’t compare yourself to others – they are more screwed up than you think

that depression is merely anger without enthusiasm

that is is not what you wear, it is how you take it off

that you shouldn’t sweat the petty things and should pet the sweaty things.

that ex’s are like fungus, and keep coming back.

that age is a very high price to pay for maturity.

that I don’t suffer from insanity, I enjoy it.

that we are responsible for what we do,….unless we are celebrities

that artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity

that 99% of the time when something isn’t working in your house…one of your kids did it

that there is a fine line between genius and insanity.

that the people you care most about in life are taken from you too soon, and all the less important ones just never go away. And the real pains in the asses are permanent.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY:: You should never take yourself too seriously. No one else does.
Laugh at the world, at yourself. Much easier to laugh than to cry.
