    Isn’t Everyone Selfish?

    Nov

    20

A man feels: He has emotions. A man thinks: He has the capacity to reason. A thinking man acts. An action results in emotions: An acting man feels. It is neither possible, nor desirable on the part of a man to act suspending either his thoughts that leads to the act or the emotions he derive as the result of his

Arguments Are A Weak Man’s Weapon?

    Sep

    27

    You say ‘Arguments
are a weak man’s weapon’ as if it were an argument. Have you ever asked
yourself what makes an argument, what effort goes behind it? Is it
brute force or is it intelligence and rationality? Is a Gun an
argument? Are nuclear weapons an argument? Is a stick an argument? No.
A gun isn’t. Nuclear weapons too aren’t. A stick too

    Sexually Harassed!

“Fools think that this is just nonsense. Something left over, old-fashioned. But there’s always a purpose in nonsense.”- Ayn Rand

One of the most fascinating aspects of Schools, which attracts its fair share of media attention presently, is sexual harassment. What? Is that what we send our children to school for? Is that what you are tempted to ask? Surely, you… Continue reading

    Spiritual Quest

    Sep

Man is alone, and that is his identity. A man is the centre of universe, and that is reality. A man, when he thinks, walks, or eats, he is alone though he might have company or might be having a conversation. Man has this world inside is head as much as it is on outside.
The world outside exists as a reflection inside a man’s mind, and a man has no prove to the existence of world or anything else, except when is trying to contradict it. Man knows by negation, and not by affirmation. Man’s reasons are good to rule out things to arrive at judgments, and his imagination is the tool used to propagate from judgments. Continue reading

Pleonastic, isn’t it? What about ‘Intelligent, but not stupid’? Or ‘Moral, but not immoral’? I lost count the number of times people have told me that they are spiritual, but not religious with a smile which displays their pride in knowing where to demarcate the line. Then, a lot are of the opinion I am a profoundly spiritual person, a trait which isn’t that common among atheists. I’ll agree to the first one in the sense a spiritual person can’t be religious. I’ll agree to the second one too as I know I am conscious of my own consciousness. I’ll take the compliment. But, could you please leave the second part? Continue reading

    Linguistic Paradox and Emotional Quotient

I read something about Wernike’s aphasia or pure word deafness and wanted to share something about it. Well Wernikes is part in temporal lobe on damage of which person is able to hear sounds but not associate any meaning to it. That is he can even reproduce the sound/ word but cannot understand what it means. Our brain is a kind of parallel processor identification and association happens

    Consciousness without senses

    Jan

First question that I would like to dwell is the possibility of a consciousness developing in the absence of senses. Can a kid born with all the five senses deficient ever develop a conscious?

In absence of all five senses the external world will be non existent for the mind. There won’t be any development of language or any meaning full communication of the mind with the external world. In such… Continue reading
