Replacing one theory by another doesn’t make it a fact!

What makes religious interpretations more practical, is that, it highlights the inability of human mind to interpret certain things immediately, in a disguised way, to the masses. And the thinking is left to the select few, who are specialized (atleast intended to be left so). Science, on the other hand, comes to the same conclusion but without accepting that they are not able to solve the biggest mysteries of life. In contrast, they claim that some future scientist will be able to get all these things!

Even taking a look at what was proposed by Darwin, one gets a feeling that science is just attempting to explain what happens (through so many theories and ‘facts’) but it is hopeless when it comes to answering why such things happen with such precision and how the laws of nature are controlled to the minutest of precision. It is the ‘why’ question that religion attempts to answer. Even though it may not be convincing, the practical results intended by such beliefs were attained convincingly.

I am not talking about good or bad, in my above comment. Just making my observations.

I was not trying to state that atheists oppose celebrations. Rahter reacting to the specific post I had linked to my blog. I was brough up very secularly . So no religion ntered any fesstivals I celebrated.And transplaning to another culture has not really impacted my celebrations either. I completely agree with the celebration of Darwin, also Newton (do read the NYTimes piece- on celebrating the days of Newton) Its just about being happy. That is all. Religion or lack of it are a personal matter- unless hey get too in your face.
